• Dubai Law No. 7 of 2025 on contracting activities (Issued in July 2025 and effective from 8 January 2026)     

This introduces uniform rules on:

1. Mandatory registration and classification of contractors,
2. Responsibilities of contractors all over the UAE (including free zones),
3. Record keeping requirements (contractors must keep the original contracts, drawings and project documentation for at least 10 years from the date of completion certificate or termination of the contract).
